What is the Air Force Recognition Ribbon Decoration?

The Air Force Recognition Ribbon is a military honor of the United States Air Force created in 1980. It was designed to recognize awards that an individual may have one that has no portability into the branch or onto the ribbon rack. The process of receiving an Air Force Recognition Ribbon is by request and is usually only awarded to those who may have one multiple annual awards and plaques from the United States Air Force and sister services. Extra honors of the Air Force Recognition Ribbon are meant by oak leaf bunches.

The Stolen Valor Act of 2013 is a federal law that makes it illegal for any person to falsely claim to be the recipient of certain military awards, "with the intention of obtaining money, property, or other tangible benefit by convincing another that he or she received the award".This decoration is covered by the Stolen Valor act. Fraudulently claiming to have received a Air Force Recognition Ribbon can result in punishment including a fine, imprisonment for not more than one year, or both
