The Army Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) Professional Development Ribbon has a blue bar on the center with yellow stripes on the sides. Additionally, there are green bars on each end of the ribbon with yellow stripes going through its center.

What is the Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon Decoration?

The Army Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) Professional Development Ribbon was established by the Secretary of the Army on April 10th, 1981. The ribbon is awarded to members of the U.S. Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserve who have successfully completed designated NCO professional development courses. To indicate completion of specific levels of the courses, a bronze numeral is affixed to the center of the ribbon. When additional courses are completed, a bronze numeral is worn on the service ribbon to denote the number of courses completed. The basic ribbon itself represents the Primary Level, numeral ?2? indicates Basic Level course, numeral ?3? indicates the Advanced Level course, and numeral ?4? indicates the Senior Level (Sergeants Major Academy) course. This ribbon award does not come with a corresponding medal of the same value and representation.

The Stolen Valor Act of 2013 is a federal law that makes it illegal for any person to falsely claim to be the recipient of certain military awards, "with the intention of obtaining money, property, or other tangible benefit by convincing another that he or she received the award".This decoration is covered by the Stolen Valor act. Fraudulently claiming to have received a Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon can result in punishment including a fine, imprisonment for not more than one year, or both
