Overview

Health care administrative assistants are responsible for ensuring the Army's health care facilities run efficiently. As an officer, you'll have the opportunity to enhance your skills in one of the world's largest health care organizations.

Job Duties

  • Plan, coordinate and monitor the treatment of our patients
  • Advise unit commanders/staff in medical/nonmedical areas of patient evacuation, treatment and tracking
  • Practice preventive medicine, organize administration, supply equipment, train staff and maintain equipment
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must be between 21 and 42 years of age (may request a waiver, Locate A Recruiter for more information)
  • Permanent U.S. residency
  • Training

    Job training for medical service corps officers includes completing an Officer Basic Leadership Course, which introduces you to the Army Health Care system, Army doctrine and basic Soldier/leader skills.

  • ASVAB

    The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is an examination that is administered by the United States Military Entrance Processing Command. It is used to determine qualification and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military.
