Design of the Navy Expert Rifleman Medal

The U.S Navy Pistol Marksmanship Ribbon is primarily black in color with green stripes close to each end of the ribbon. In addition, silver "E" device is affixed on the center of the ribbon.

What is the Navy Expert Rifleman Medal Decoration?

The Marksmanship Ribbon is a United States Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard award that is issued to its members who pass a weapons qualification course and achieve an above-average score. The Coast Guard Rifle Marksmanship ribbon is awarded to personnel who qualify at the Marksman level over a course of fire prescribed by regulations. The current qualifying rifles are the M16 or M4. Qualifying must be performed using the current qualifying rifles and under challenges such as time limits, firing positions, and limited number of rounds. The proper device is awarded once the personnel scores "Expert" qualification level during the rifle qualification course.

Navy Expert Rifleman Medal and the Stolen Valor Act

The Stolen Valor Act of 2013 is a federal law that makes it illegal for any person to falsely claim to be the recipient of certain military awards, "with the intention of obtaining money, property, or other tangible benefit by convincing another that he or she received the award".This decoration is covered by the Stolen Valor act. Fraudulently claiming to have received a Navy Expert Rifleman Medal can result in punishment including a fine, imprisonment for not more than one year, or both
