What is the Coast Guard Bronze Rifle Excellence-in-Competition Award Decoration?

The U.S. armed forces awards excellence-in-competition (EIC) badges to their members based on the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) records of points earned at a rifle match and in accordance with the member's service regulation. U.S. Coast Guard award their Bronze EIC Rifle Badges when a Coast Guardsman earns their first leg points regardless of the number of points earned. The Coast Guardsmen must compete in an authorized excellence category of competition in accordance with Coast Guard Commandant Instruction Manual 8000.2 series.
